I’m Sarah. I live in Lansing, MI by way of Chicago. I am originally from a super small town in Mid-Michigan, where there are more cows than people, and I learned to drive a tractor before I learned to drive a car. Being back in Lansing is definitely an adjustment- I do miss Chicago, but Lansing and Michigan offer many wonderful things as well. Mainly beer (Michigan has the best beer/selection) period.
I am a Registered Dietitian, and Certified Diabetes Educator. I am a runner, and I am a lover of martinis, beer, and food. I am a dietitian, but I am also a foodie.
I started this blog because some people perceive Dietitians as being very rigid health nuts. And some are I suppose; in my lifestyle & the way I speak to my patients – I am half an RD- Half Human. Meaning? I can be a realistic nutrition expert that incorporates exercise, mindful eating/REAL FOOD eating, indulgences, (with a healthy dose of evidence based guidance thrown in for good measure) when it comes to weight loss, and a healthy lifestyle.
I also started to blog to chronicle my running while I trained for my first half marathon, and the races and growth I experienced in 2013. These experiences have expanded from there, I have now run 15-ish half marathons, and 4 marathons, and getting ready for even more in 2017.
