My bi-weekly Grocery Store excursion

This photo is actually from LAST Sunday. When I went on my bi-weekly shopping date. I made my list, I checked it twice, and made sure the naughty didn’t outweigh the nice. I spent about $58 for two weeks worth of groceries. What I got: celery, grapes, Mrs. Dash, Vanilla Light Silk, 5 Oikos Greek Yogurt, 1 Larger container of Dannon Plain Greek Yogurt, a bag of organic sweet peppers, Raspberries, Bleu cheese, Egg whites, canadian bacon, that massive watermelon, and a bottle of skinny girl mojito, and a some avocados.

A weeks worth of meals:

-Sunday I made some tuna salad with mustard and greek yogurt, sliced peppers, and avocado and stuffed them in the sweet peppers with some watermelon (it looked grosser than it tasted- and it was very tasty, if you like tuna I suppose).

-Monday I participated in meatless Monday so I made Egg whites, with soy chorizo, cheese, peppers on whole wheat chia seed tortillas

-Tuesday I had leftover tilapia, with green garbanzo beans & brown rice- I had frozen beans, and some brown rice in the pantry

-Wednesday- This is my running group night so I had some Ezekial toast with peanut butter & a Quest Bar pre-run, and some chicken with my group post run.

-Thursday- Chicken Salad on Ezekial toast with with watermelon. I made the chicken salad with a little mustard, greek yogurt, celery, and grapes.

-Friday & Saturday I ate with Patrick, and we indulged at a street festival (Burgerfest) on Saturday, and divine empanadas Friday.

-Sunday- I made more tuna with avocado, greek yogurt, celery & peppers.

I also did overnight oats a few days last week, and took a lot of fruit to work for breakfast & lunch. I plan to do the same this week as well.

What I have planned for the upcoming week- I will likely use the rest of my soy chorizo later today, and do a dinner/breakfast taco/burrito. I’ll probably do some fish & frozen veggies with some of my leftover brown rice & green garbanzo beans, maybe some more of that skinny girl as well 🙂 I am currently well-endowed with a good selection of frozen meats & veggies so I won’t want for anything like that. And breakfasts will probably include more batches of overnight oats, and fruit for breakfast.

I’m getting pretty good with my overnight oats concoctions – I add in all kinds of stuff I’m like a mad scientists with those oats. If I don’t add PB2 I add the same amount of milk to oats- I’ll also add a dollop of Plain Greek yogurt from time to time as well. Then just plop on whatever fruit I happen to have.
